A Columbiana County woman with a son serving in the Middle East got a prank call early Saturday morning that led her to believe he had been captured.
Linda McGuire believes her 22-year-old son Luke is in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division. During the phone call McGuire thought she heard the voice of her son being questioned like a prisoner of war.
She now knows her son is not a P.O.W. and believes it was a recording of another P.O.W. shown on television.
Luke McGuire's Captain at Fort Campbell, KY told his mother there have been no other complaints of prank calls like this. But, over the weekend we reported a story about a Wisconsin family who received a call from someone claiming to be with the Red Cross.
The caller said one of their sons had been captured in Iraq. It turned out to be false.
