Blagojevich intrigued by Massachusetts health care plan:
"SPRINGFIELD, Ill. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich says he's eager to see the results of a Massachusetts plan for universal health care.
Blagojevich said today he thinks everyone has a right to health care, and he's interested in whether the Massachusetts approach is successful.
It requires everyone in Massachusetts to have health insurance.
If all goes as planned, poor people will be offered free or heavily subsidized coverage. People who can afford insurance but refuse to get it will face increasing tax penalties. Those already insured will see a modest drop in their premiums.
Blagojevich stopped short of saying he wants a similar program in Illinois.
But the Democratic governor says he does want to provide universal health coverage if it can be done without raising taxes."
yeah right!
